Board Approves Septic System Waiver for Stearns Street

Board of Health approved a septic system waiver for 229 Stearns Street.

Board of Health · Meeting of June 24, 2026

CARLISLE — Board of Health approved a septic system waiver for 229 Stearns Street. Voting unanimously, the board permitted a 3-bedroom conventional system with a 57-foot setback from an existing well, shorter than the standard 100-foot requirement, after engineering efforts to locate a replacement well yielded only minimal flow. Health Director Kelli Calo confirmed the revised proposal met state standards.

In other business, the board reelected Patrick Collins as Chair and Tony Mariano as Vice Chair, elected Will Proctor Treasurer, and approved two Woodward Village escrow agreements with modified language from Town Counsel. Responding to stage 3 drought conditions, the board authorized distribution of state water conservation materials as advisory guidance.
