Carlisle Conservation Commission commits to revise Land Stewardship Committee charter

Conservation Commission · Meeting of January 27, 2026

Carlisle Conservation Commission commits to overhaul Land Stewardship Committee charter and oversight. The commission, meeting jointly with the Select Board on January 27, committed to revising the LSC charter approved in May 2024 after receiving complaints about its management of agricultural licenses and land permits. Members Navneet Hundal, Melissa Webster, and Sylvia Willard recommended that licensing, permitting, and legal matters return to Conservation Commission oversight.

Brian Murphy, who chairs the LSC, agreed that better coordination is needed and suggested joint meetings every two months.
