CARLISLE — The Community Preservation Committee agreed to modify a Spaulding Field rehabilitation project approved at Town Meeting in 2025. The Recreation Commission requested the changes, citing concerns about ongoing maintenance costs, limited use by Carlisle residents, and scheduling conflicts with the Summer Recreation program. The committee voted unanimously to proceed with tree clearing, batting cage clearing, and stone wall backstop restoration while deferring baseball diamond restoration, saving approximately $30,000 in planned expenditures, pending Town Counsel approval.
