Carlisle Finance Committee Unanimously Elects New Leadership Ahead of Annual Town Meeting

CARLISLE — April 16, 2026 — Carlisle Finance Committee unanimously elected a new officer slate and outlined its town meeting strategy at its April 16 meeting. The committee approved a full leadership transition to take effect after Annual Town Meeting on April 27: Don Kupka as chair, Lindsay Liss as vice chair, Pat Geyer as clerk, Gerard Jansen as vice clerk, Paul Rodriguez as guidelines chair, and Brian Conway as guidelines vice chair. Chair Lois Wassoff, who is stepping down after six years, reported that $500,000 in ARPA funds is now without an approved use after the Concord Municipal Affordable Housing Trust abandoned its planned purchase of 91B Main Street following discovery of gasoline contamination from a nearby former gas station; those funds must be redirected to an eligible purpose before December 31, 2026. Wassoff also previewed a five-minute Finance Committee presentation for town meeting emphasizing that budget guidelines were met for the first time in three years and that no borrowing will fund this year's capital projects, while urging members not to overstate financial security given anticipated capital costs tied to a review of 51 town properties. Three members are departing: Wassoff, Kathy Kukula, and Carlin Reed, who is transitioning to the role of town moderator.
