Carlisle Launches Summer School Program, Keeps Board Seats Open for Volunteers

With the school year officially over, Carlisle Public Schools has posted summer learning resources and confirmed campus ground rules for the coming weeks, while Town Hall continues to seek volunteers to fill open board and committee seats.

The town's homepage carries a standing notice that volunteer vacancies remain on several boards and committees, with residents encouraged to review the open positions list. Separately, the Transfer Station has moved to full permit enforcement, with same-day credit and debit card transactions available at the Police Station; all other transactions will be handled by mail, and no cash is accepted.

SCHOOLS

Carlisle Public Schools has published its 2026 summer learning resources on the district website, including summer reading lists for all grade levels and math practice tools to help students stay sharp over the break. The main office is operating on summer hours — 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. — with summer school running July 6 through Aug. 7. During those weekday hours, parking in the School Street lot is restricted from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., public restroom access is closed to playground visitors, and the playground itself is reserved for enrolled students. The next Carlisle School Committee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 5, at 10 a.m. The district has also posted the "Story of Our School: Annual Overview 2025-2026," described as a living account shaped by students, educators, families, and community partners.
