Carlisle Opens Early Voting For September State Primary

CARLISLE — Carlisle Town Hall will open the Parlin Room for in-person early voting ahead of the September 1 State Primary, the Town Clerk announced this week. The news arrived alongside word that the Transfer Station's cardboard container is temporarily out of service and that Carlisle Public Schools has posted summer learning resources ahead of the new school year.

TOWN HALL

In-person early voting for the September 1 State Primary will be held at Town Hall, 66 Westford Street, in the Parlin Room, the Town Clerk's office said in a News Flash posted August 20. Specific dates and hours are listed on the Town Clerk's page; residents planning to vote early should check that schedule before visiting.

Separately, the Transfer Station's cardboard container is currently out of service. The town is asking residents to follow posted signs and instructions for disposing of cardboard until the container is back in operation.

The August edition of the town's Municipal Newsletter was also published this week, rounding up monthly town and community news, celebrations and happenings, with submissions from local community groups.

SCHOOLS

Carlisle Public Schools posted its 2026 summer learning resources page, offering summer reading lists for all grade levels and math practice tools to help students stay sharp before classes resume. The School Committee's next meeting is set for Wednesday, August 26, at 1 p.m., a remote session, with an in-person meeting to follow September 16 at 6 p.m.

COMING UP

The Community Preservation Commission meets Monday, August 24, in a hybrid session. The Select Board convenes Tuesday, August 25, in a hybrid meeting, with the Historical Commission and the Municipal Facilities Committee each holding joint sessions with the Select Board that same day. Carlisle's School Committee holds a remote meeting Wednesday, August 26, at 1 p.m.
