Carlisle Opens Fall CPC Grant Cycle Ahead Of Aug. 14 Deadline

The Community Preservation Committee has opened its FY27 fall grant cycle, giving residents and organizations until noon on Friday, August 14 to submit applications ahead of the November 16 Special Town Meeting vote.

The Community Preservation Committee is now accepting applications for its FY27 fall grant cycle, with funded proposals to go before voters at the Special Town Meeting scheduled for November 16 in the Corey Auditorium and Cafeteria at Carlisle Public School. The application deadline is noon on Friday, August 14, giving prospective applicants roughly a week and a half to finalize submissions.

Separately, the Building Department reminded residents it will remain closed on Fridays through the rest of the summer, with regular Friday hours resuming in September. The July edition of the town's municipal newsletter is also now available, featuring monthly updates and community submissions.

SCHOOLS

The Carlisle School Committee meets Wednesday, August 5, at 10 a.m., with the agenda posted ahead of the session. The district's main office is keeping summer hours of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. through August 7, the final week of summer school, and has reminded families that the School Street lot is off limits to parking on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and that the playground remains for student use only during those same hours. Public restroom access for playground users is not available during the summer session.

The district has also posted summer learning resources, including reading lists and math practice tools for all grade levels, as students head into the final weeks of break.

COMING UP

The Carlisle School Committee meets Wednesday, August 5, at 10 a.m. The Cemetery Committee and the Department of Public Works Building Committee, the latter meeting in hybrid format, are also scheduled for Wednesday, August 5. The Municipal Facilities Committee meets in hybrid format on Thursday, August 6. The Community Preservation Committee's fall grant application deadline falls on Friday, August 14, at noon, and the Household Hazardous Waste Day runs Saturday, August 15, from 9 a.m. to noon.
