Carlisle Preservation Committee Opens FY27 Grant Application Cycle

CARLISLE — Carlisle's Community Preservation Committee has opened its fiscal 2027 grant application cycle, with the requests headed for a vote at the November 16 Special Town Meeting and an August 14 filing deadline giving applicants a tight window to prepare.

The Community Preservation Committee is accepting FY27 applications now through Friday, August 14, at noon, according to the town's News Flash feed. Projects approved by the CPC will go before voters at the Special Town Meeting scheduled for November 16, meaning nonprofits, town departments and residents with community preservation projects — historic preservation, open space, recreation or affordable housing — have roughly three weeks to get requests in.

Separately, the town posted its July municipal newsletter, which rounds up town and community news and remains open to submissions from local groups.

SCHOOLS

Carlisle Public Schools flagged its next School Committee meeting for Wednesday, August 5, at 10 a.m., per the district's calendar. The district also reminded families that its summer campus setup remains in effect through August 7: the main office is keeping 8 a.m.-to-3 p.m. summer hours, the playground restroom is unavailable to the public during summer school, and the School Street lot is off-limits for parking and reserved for student use only on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.

COMING UP

Several town boards meet in the week ahead. The Recreation Commission and the Land Stewardship Committee both meet Thursday, July 23, with the Land Stewardship session held in hybrid format. The Department of Public Works Renovation Building Committee has a site visit scheduled Monday, July 27, and the Select Board holds its next hybrid meeting Tuesday, July 28.
