Carlisle School Committee votes down School Choice, approves budget shifts

School Committee Meeting Agendas (Local and Regional) · Meeting of March 11, 2026

Carlisle School Committee declines School Choice participation for 2026-2027 school year. Chair Brian Waterson's committee unanimously approved a $33,900 budget transfer to custodial contracted services, voted to raise the Transportation Revolving Fund limit from $60,000 to $80,000, and trimmed the FY27 budget by removing a $125,000 out-of-district contingency fund while securing written assurance from the Finance Committee that reserve funds will be available if additional tuition is needed. The committee also unanimously approved the Student Opportunity Act and 31 policy revisions, and decided to pursue an Interim Superintendent search rather than a permanent hire, with Waterson to form a Search Committee and contact approximately 20 applicants.
