Carlisle Sets August 15 Household Hazardous Waste Day

CARLISLE — Carlisle will hold its 2026 Household Hazardous Waste Day on Saturday, August 15, from 9 a.m. to noon, the town announced, while the Building Department settles into Friday closures for the rest of the summer.

The town's Household Hazardous Waste Day is set for Saturday, August 15, from 9 a.m. to noon, giving residents a window to dispose of chemicals, solvents, and other materials that cannot go out with regular trash.

Separately, the Building Department will be closed on Fridays through the summer, resuming its regular Friday hours in September. The town asked residents for patience with the temporary schedule change.

SCHOOLS

The Carlisle School Committee meets Wednesday, August 5, at 10 a.m., with an agenda posted ahead of the session. The district's main office is keeping summer hours of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. through August 7, when summer school wraps up, and has posted summer reading and math practice resources for families ahead of the new school year.
