Cemetery Committee approves prior minutes, advances expansion study.
Cemetery Committee · Meeting of January 7, 2026
Carlisle Cemetery Committee meets to advance expansion study and capital projects. Present were members Gordon Means and Susan Richardson, with James Hall, DPW Superintendent. The committee approved prior minutes and heard that CIMS digitization of the old section is underway.
Means is preparing a March Select Board proposal on cemetery expansion via the Leavitt land, requiring a survey, conservation assessment, and environmental impact report. The committee prioritized street sign replacement, graveyard inventory for remediation, and pursuit of National Register designation to unlock grant funding for Wilson Chapel restoration; Richardson will seek a $10,000 warrant article for the May Town Meeting. Updated Cemetery Regulations are complete and will be voted on at the next meeting.
