Committee Backing Organic Waste Ban at Transfer Station

CARLISLE — Environmental Sustainability Committee unanimously endorses soft organic waste ban for transfer station. Tom Bilotta reported Carlisle has reduced solid waste 17 percent over three and a half years, declining from 1,820 to 1,520 tons, with an estimated 500 tons of organic waste still in the waste stream. The committee backed the soft ban for late February implementation to recommend to the Select Board.
Members also approved the 2025 annual report, reconfirmed Keith Therrien as their DPW voting member, and allocated $240 for a second ESC hour event.
