CARLISLE — Municipal Facilities Committee discusses town hall heating options. The committee reviewed three pathways for replacing the town hall heating system at its July 16 meeting: a fossil fuel replacement at lowest cost, a hybrid system estimated at $1 million, and an all-electric conversion with higher infrastructure needs. Chair Jerome Lerman noted that pursuing the hybrid or all-electric option could unlock $500,000 in Green Communities de-carbonization funding, though such funding would not be available until fall 2027 at the earliest.
The committee deferred its decision to the next meeting pending cost reviews. Meanwhile, the Robbins and Grant heating and cooling system project continues to advance, with a Climate Leaders grant application due August 6 and design work underway for dual rooftop units at Robbins School and a single unit at Grant School.
