Carlisle Conservation Commission clears knotweed removal with environmental protections. The Commission approved an Order of Conditions for invasive Japanese knotweed removal at Greenough Conservation Land, imposing special provisions including a ban on herbicides containing POEA (an amphibian toxicant) and requirements for monitoring of rare Britton's Violet before livestock grazing; the motion carried unanimously, 5-0. The Commission recommended three applicants — Member Brian Murphy, Member Melissa Webster, and applicant Tony Kiszewski — for three open Conservation Commission positions to be sent to the Select Board for appointment.
The Commission additionally backed Warrant Article 5 for 1.4 million dollars in design and engineering funds for a new Department of Public Works building.
