Carlisle Conservation Commission authorizes emergency measures for compromised dam. The board voted unanimously to authorize Conservation Administrator Meghan Sullivan to implement protective measures for Cranberry Bog Dam #1 after a Ground Penetrating Radar survey revealed voids and structural anomalies at critical points. A Weston and Sampson engineer warned in September that rising water would likely cause breach.
Protective measures include clearing debris from overflow structures when conditions permit, removing boards to maintain lower water levels, and coordinating with engineers on GPR analysis and priority repairs ahead of spring 2026 extensive work. Chris Spinney, a Land Stewardship Committee representative and adjacent-property resident, agreed to monitor conditions.
