Environmental Sustainability Committee approves invasive plant removal plan

Carlisle Environmental Sustainability Committee approves nearly $530 for invasive plant removal and native species replacement. Co-Chair Christina Christodoulopoulos presented a proposal to replace invasive burning bushes at Town Hall with native plants including mapleleaf viburnum and bush honeysuckle, at a maximum cost of $60 per plant. The Committee unanimously voted to provide $50 to supplement disposal costs for an invasive plant workshop and $480 for native plants.
Additionally, the Committee backed allocating $180 for publicity costs for a co-sponsored presentation by Nick Nelson on dam removal conservation trends in partnership with SuAsCo, and unanimously endorsed four town warrant articles supporting environmental sustainability improvements and green building initiatives.
