ESC Endorses Cranberry Bog Affordable Housing and Library Renovation for Town Meeting

Carlisle sustainability panel endorses affordable housing conversion and library renovation for town meeting vote. The Environmental Sustainability Committee voted unanimously to support two Community Preservation Act funded projects. The first would convert the historic Cranberry Bog House to affordable housing, carving out approximately 2 acres of protected conservation land with replacement land to be provided.
The second is the Gleason Library Interior Renovation, featuring HVAC improvements and energy efficiency upgrades with low-VOC paints and sustainably sourced wood. Committee members present — co-chairs Eric Balles and Christina Christodoulopoulos, plus Kyra Prats and Keith Therrien — also unanimously allocated up to $1,500 to help the Conservation Commission purchase an electric mower.
