Carlisle Planning Board unanimously approved fire station design and advanced preservation policy. The board voted 6-0-0 on limestone-style modular block and rustic wood form-liner materials for the fire station renovation, clearing final design elements. In separate unanimous votes, the board directed Town Planner Julie Mercier to develop revisions to the Distinctive Structures Bylaw enabling multifamily conversion of pre-1932 buildings as a preservation incentive, and voted to pursue design guidelines for compact housing supporting both MBTA community zoning and existing examples like Woodward and Pine Hills.
The board also approved the draft FY28 operating budget with salary lines held flat.
