CARLISLE — The Board of Health voted to increase Public Health Nursing hours to 10 per week to support department modernization. Chair Patrick Collins and members unanimously approved increasing Laura Duff's hours retroactively to help Health Agent Jennine Blum pursue required Registered Sanitarian certification. The board also voted unanimously to require a new Title 5 septic inspection for the Gleason Public Library renovation, as the existing leaching field has not been inspected since 2012.
The Public Health Nursing report documented four cases of tickborne infectious disease in late July and early August with no public health threat identified, while West Nile Virus was detected in Carlisle mosquitoes this week.
