Historical Commission approves Rules and Regulations revisions, eyes Highland Building preservation.

CARLISLE — The Carlisle Historical Commission voted unanimously to approve modernized Rules and Regulations allowing electronic submissions and single-copy applications. Co-Chair Ben Herter and members Sara Smith, Krissy O'Shea, Colby Mauke, and Ed Rolfe advanced the measure, which removes outdated requirements and updates references to town and state resources. The Commission also expressed significant concern about the Highland Building, which the School Committee indicated it has no immediate use for; members discussed pursuing National Register of Historic Places recognition and opening the building to the public to demonstrate its historical and architectural value.
