CARLISLE — Concord and Carlisle schools approve twin budgets totaling $89.9 million. The Concord Public Schools budget of $48.9 million increases 2.75 percent, driven by a 3 percent cost-of-living adjustment, step increases, and two new special education administrators; out-of-district tuition expenses fell $296,227. The Concord-Carlisle Regional School District budget of $41 million rises 1.63 percent with full-time equivalent positions reduced from 225.0 to 220.86 and savings realized from landfill remediation loan payoff.
Assistant Superintendent Robert Conry presented a $1.5 million five-year capital plan funded through the Capital Stabilization Fund, reserves, and repurposed OPEB contributions, prioritizing $1 million for football field turf replacement and facility infrastructure upgrades. The committees approved Superintendent Dr. Laurie Hunter's proposed Special Education Stabilization Fund to cover unanticipated out-of-district tuition and transportation costs.
