Land Stewardship Committee approves garden rules and conservation permits

Land Stewardship Committee · Meeting of January 15, 2026

CARLISLE — Land Stewardship Committee approves community garden rules and conservation activities. Chair Brian Murphy's committee voted to approve final Community Garden Rules subject to Conservation Commission review at its January 29 meeting, and granted Land Use Permits for a January 18 Billerica walk and the Carlisle Conservation Foundation's annual activities comprising approximately 15 walks on multiple conservation parcels. The committee declined to pursue a Community Preservation Act funding request for invasive plant removal at Foss Farm, citing incompatibility with CPA's July 1 funding start date and prior allocations to that site.

A motion requesting the Select Board provide details of unspecified charter concerns before a January 27 joint meeting with the Conservation Commission passed 8 to 1, with member Adam Chojnacki dissenting.
