CARLISLE — Planning Board continues fire station review, cites design gaps. The Board continued its review of the Carlisle Fire Station renovation and expansion at 80 Westford Street, now estimated at $17.5 million, identifying substantial concerns about vehicle circulation, architectural cohesion, and site signage that the design team committed to addressing in revised submissions due April 9. Vice Chair Adelaide Grady, along with members Joseph Gushue and Eric Adams, raised multiple safety issues involving apparatus turning movements, circulation constraints, and the visual incompatibility of three distinct building structures on the Westford Street corridor.
The Board also approved two Approval Not Required Plans for 641 South Street and 280 Kimball Road, and unanimously approved invoices for legal advertisement and a tax map update before continuing the fire station hearing to April 13, 2026, at 7:30 PM.
