Safety Committee Approves Bike Trails as New Focus Area

Safety Committee · Meeting of April 1, 2026

CARLISLE — Safety Committee shifts focus to bike trails after completing speed limits work. Members Laura Harrison, Brian King, and Tal Rotman (on Zoom) agreed that bike safety and connectivity—especially on East Street, Curve Street, and School Street—should become a major focus area, with exploration of rail trail connections. The committee also discussed nine unmarked crosswalk signs with a total cost of $3,510, but the DPW budget can only absorb $2,000; Christine Stevens volunteered to seek additional funding from the Select Board.

The meeting adjourned early due to an anticipated quorum loss.
