Select Board approves Cemetery Committee warrant articles for fee hikes and expansion study.

Cemetery Committee · Meeting of February 10, 2026

CARLISLE — Select Board approves Cemetery Committee warrant articles for May town meeting. Cemetery Committee Chair Gordon Means and members Susan Richardson and Maeve Lobo requested $16,000 for a site evaluation of the 5-acre Leavitt parcel, which could expand capacity from the current 6.5 years to 20 to 55 years. The committee also proposed raising full interment fees from $500 to $650, cremation interment from $250 to $300, and deed/perpetual care fees from $300 to $600, though the Select Board encouraged reconsideration to align with comparable-town rates.

The perpetual care fund is underfunded and requires rebuilding; the Select Board expressed support for both articles.
