Carlisle Select Board finalizes May 18 town meeting warrant, approves food waste policy. The Board voted unanimously to adopt a "Responsible Disposal of Food Waste" policy effective April 22 encouraging voluntary compliance, after Chair Scott Triola prevailed on framing food waste reduction as a positive community goal rather than a mandate. The Board also voted unanimously to authorize a departmental credit card for Fire Chief Bryan Sorrows for state certifications and equipment purchases, and approved the warrant for Annual Town Meeting including a fire station project estimated at $17.5 million pending bids April 23, DPW building design costs of $1.4 million, and town hall borrowing authorization of $1.3 million.

Town Administrator Ryan McLane reported the town received a $119,000 climate leader grant for town hall HVAC design and faces potential loss of approximately $300,000 in motor vehicle excise tax revenue if state legislation eliminating the tax marking system passes.
