State Declares Carlisle in Level 3 Critical Drought
CARLISLE — The town's Board of Health announced that Carlisle has been placed under a Level 3 – Critical Drought status, the most serious advisory the community has faced this season, following a designation from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs.

The Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs has designated the Northeast Region, which includes Carlisle, as being in Level 3 – Critical Drought status, the Carlisle Board of Health announced. Residents should expect continued guidance from the town on water use restrictions as officials monitor conditions; further details are available through the town's News Flash page.
Separately, the town continues to seek volunteers to fill vacancies on several boards and committees, according to the town's News Flash feed. Residents interested in serving can review the current list of openings through the town website.
The June edition of the Town of Carlisle Municipal Newsletter has also been published, featuring monthly town and community news, celebrations, and happenings, with community group submissions welcomed for future editions.
SCHOOLS
Carlisle Public Schools is operating on its summer 2026 campus schedule, with the Main Office keeping hours of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. during Summer School, which runs from July 6 through August 7. The district noted there is no public restroom access for playground users during this period, and no parking is allowed in the School Street lot on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., when the playground is reserved for student use only.
The district has also posted 2026 summer learning resources, including summer reading lists and math practice tools for all grade levels. The next Carlisle School Committee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 5, at 10 a.m.
COMING UP
The Joint School Committee's Climate and Culture Working Group meets Thursday, July 9. A Joint School Committee meeting of the Concord Public School Committee and Concord-Carlisle Regional School District Committee is scheduled remotely for Friday, July 10. The Carlisle Cultural Council meets remotely on Monday, July 13, the same day the Planning Board holds a hybrid meeting.
