Sustainability Committee approves event funding, tracks environmental initiatives

Carlisle Sustainability Committee funds bats presentation, advances environmental initiatives. The committee unanimously approved $50 for refreshments and $40 for printing for a March 31 presentation on bats at the library from 7 to 8 p.m., with speaker fees already covered. Members discussed cranberry bog management and wildlife corridors work, with a town official scheduled to present the wildlife corridors project at the next meeting.

The committee also reviewed sustainability aspects of the fire station renovation, which will include heat pumps, and noted energy conservation as the primary design concern for the DPW building renovation.
