Trails Committee votes to expand associate membership, endorses Bog House housing plan.

CARLISLE — Trails Committee endorses affordable housing conversion of Carlisle Cranberry Bog. Chair Alan Ankers and the committee discussed the Housing Trust and Planning Board plan to create four units of housing targeting households earning 30 to 100 percent of area median income, with an estimated project cost of $2 million plus $300,000 to $400,000 in Community Preservation Act funds. The committee unanimously elevated associate member Patricia Wolfe to full member status and approved donating 40 trail guidebooks to the Community Farm School.
The committee also signaled support for Department of Public Works mowing of trails on six to seven town conservation properties, pending review of electric mower options.
