Trust Fund Panel Approves November Minutes, Consults on Fund Uses

Town Trust Fund Administration Working Group · Meeting of January 30, 2026

CARLISLE — The Town Trust Fund Administration Working Group approved November minutes and consulted with guests on scholarship and cemetery trust deployment. Three of six members attended January 30 meeting: Wendy Gilden, Christine Stevens, and Jane Williams. School Committee Chair Brian Waterson agreed to identify which education-community body should hold scholarship funds broadly available to all Carlisle students, saying the School Committee may not be the proper party.

Cemetery Committee Chair Gordon Means favored keeping three separate cemetery funds and committed to proposing how trust funds could best benefit town cemeteries. The working group reviewed a draft formal statement for state consolidation approval, to be submitted by town counsel to the Attorney General.
