Zoning Board approves streamlined Section 6.3 amendment for town meeting.

Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of March 2, 2026

CARLISLE — Zoning Board recommends streamlined Section 6.3 amendment to Planning Board for town meeting sponsorship. Only Chair Eric Adams and Associate Member Kyle Rogers, elevated to voting status, attended the remote meeting; the board voted unanimously to strip reference language about a 50 percent metric that Chair Adams warned could mislead residents into believing projects under that threshold would be automatically approved. The streamlined amendment shifts Section 6.3 from a quantitative to qualitative approach and will require a public hearing before Town Meeting.

Adams emphasized the bylaw ranks among the three most frequently encountered in Carlisle and noted the Board is recruiting two vacant associate member positions.
