Carlisle Audit Committee Approves Three FY2024 Audit Letters, Sets May Hearing

CARLISLE — April 14, 2026 — Carlisle's Financial Audit Advisory Committee unanimously approved three fiscal year 2024 audit response letters Tuesday and scheduled a May 12 meeting to receive the completed regional school district audit. The committee, meeting with three of its five voting members after absences by Brett Favre and Chris Schaefer, voted to forward letters addressing the town, Carlisle Municipal Light Plant, and Carlisle-Carlisle Regional School District audits, with the town letter documenting four material weaknesses and committing the committee to a remediation-monitoring process. Chair Wendy also raised an open meeting law concern about a pre-meeting email from Favre in which he shared opinions on topics under active consideration, incorporating the email into the public record and reminding members that inter-session communications should be limited to scheduling logistics. Finance Director Jennifer confirmed that cash reconciliations through fiscal year 2024 — performed with outside firm CLA — are complete, with fiscal year 2025 reconciliation expected to finish before auditor fieldwork begins in early May.
