Carlisle Middle School Building Project Projects $7.4 Million in Final Savings

CARLISLE — April 16, 2026 — Carlisle's middle school building project is on track to close with roughly $7.4 million in projected savings against an original pre-construction estimate of approximately $111 million. The Middle School Building Committee, meeting remotely April 16, received an update from the owner's project manager showing total expenditures to date of $103,923,035 and a remaining project balance of $7,592,965, with two line items — OPM invoices and a final commissioning check — still variable by a combined estimated $170,000. The OPM told the committee, "I'll say it's somewhere over seven and stand up straight with that." A commissioning back-punch for air handling unit one, which has resisted calibration and produces a rhythmic ductwork thump, is scheduled for the week of April 21 with technicians from Canada and on-site engineers. Separately, Carlisle Municipal Light Plant is preparing a second round of bids for a rooftop solar installation on the building, with a joint grant application submitted by the school and CMLP expected to yield results in May 2026.
