Carlisle Select Board Clears Fire Station Bid Complication Before Annual Town Meeting
CARLISLE — May 18, 2026 — Carlisle Select Board resolves Fire Station Renovation bid dispute in seven-minute pre-Town Meeting session. Chair Scott Triola told the board Monday that the apparent lowest bidder on the Fire Station Renovation had been disqualified because its cost, once the add alternate for the roof was included in the evaluation, was not the lowest and most responsive and responsible bid. The project will proceed with the second-lowest bidder, and the town will not initially pursue the roof add alternate. Because the second bidder fits within the published budget, no change to the Town Meeting warrant article is required. Member Travis Snell asked the board to verbally support the DPW Building project if debate arose at Annual Town Meeting. Vice Chair Barney Arnold and Member David Model were thanked for their service before the board adjourned unanimously at 5:45 p.m.
